Several years ago, Kinetic Networks began to develop a more cost-effective ETL tool, called KETL™, that could compete with many of the existing commercial products. When it realized the need for an open-source ETL tool was so great, Kinetic Networks decided to give it to the community. In 2005, in conjunction with Greenplum and JasperSoft, Kinetic Networks released the industry’s first complete open source business intelligence development stack. The integrated solution combined KETL™ from Kinetic Networks, JasperReports, from JasperSoft, and the Bizgres data warehousing database based on PostgreSQL.

Today, KETL™ is available for all companies as an alternative to traditional, commercial ETL products.
